Technology Overview

YAMAHA adopt High-quality Full CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) writing method at the CRW-F1 to achive maximum writing speed of 44x with Yamaha's CAV Writing Strategy.
It gurantees high-quality data writing at high-speed on CD-R media.
Also the CRW-F1 offers high-quality Full CAV for CD-RW rewriting at maximum
24x speed for random access packet data rewriting as well as high-quality Partial
CAV at maximum 24x speed for data rewriting. These rewriting speed can be used for new standard "Ultra Speed" CD-RW media. For CD-ROM access, the CRWF1 features high-quality Full CAV at maximum 44x data reading and ripping.

This chart above shows CD-R writing speed of the CRW-F1. It starts at 19x writing speed
and smoothly accelerates its writing speed to 44x in outermost area. Its spindle motor
speed is completely maintained at 8700 rpm while it accelerates its writing speed. Of
couse there are no shift-up points to wait motor's speed-up like Zone CLV Technology.
Even using CAV writing technology to gain the writing speed, there should be signifi -
cant quality diff erence without dedicated CAV writing strategy. ð” e CRW-F1 adopts
Yamahafs exclusive CAV writing controller of YDC132-V. It builts in the ultra-accurate
clock generator to be used in the writing strategy. Also the CRW-F1 adopts high
precision Optimum Power Calibration to determine the best value of laser power for
writing media at writing speed. Yamaha has a long experience in CAV writing technology
and writing strategy since the CRW2100 introduced in 2000. We have a large
database for fine-tuned writing strategies dedicated for CAV writing. All strategy is
stored in CRW-F1 to offer best quality CAV writing. The quality difference comes
form the combination of these technologies.
